What It Means to Become Parents

In Santorini, Greece

To us, becoming a parent means embracing the responsibility of nurturing, guiding, and loving a child. It involves creating a safe, supportive environment where our child can grow and thrive. It would mean the absolute world to us. One of the greatest joys of parenting for us will be sharing life's adventures, such as traveling the world and exposing them to diverse cultures and experiences that we have been so fortunate to enjoy.

We hope telling bedtime stories becomes a treasured ritual, sparking their imagination and creating a comforting end to their day. Exploring new adventures together, whether hiking in nature, playing silly games we played as children, or discovering what will be their favorite hobbies is something we look forward too.

Witnessing our child's growth, teaching them values, and sharing unconditional love will be the most important thing in the world to us. Creating family traditions and learning from each other will be at the forefront of our lives. Being able to share all of our love with a child would be our greatest accomplishment.

Our Lifestyle

Under the Eiffel Tower in Paris

Our lifestyle embodies a blend of adventure and calmness. We are passionate about exploring new horizons, immersing ourselves in diverse cultures, and creating lasting memories through travel. Yet, we equally cherish the quiet joys of a slower pace of life. Whether it's cozying up for movie nights on the sofa or indulging in rainy day junk food marathons, we truly find happiness in the simple moments.

Playing With Our Dogs

Balancing this with a commitment to a healthy, active lifestyle, we prioritize staying active, eating well, and caring for our physical and mental well-being. We are firm believers if you need a break, mentally or physically, you take it. Walking our pups through the hills of Germany is one of our favorite things to do together as a family to unwind.

Being surrounded by friends and family is essential to us. We often have get togethers or cook outs. Being in a military environment there is a strong sense of togetherness. We don't always have family close to us, so they become family. We have game nights and dinners together often. We celebrate each other always. This blend of adventure, relaxation, and togetherness defines our balanced and enriching lifestyle.

Our Pups, Beau & Jake

With Beau & Jake

Having two dogs, Beau and Jake, who are not just pets but members of the family, is a significant and cherished part of our lives. Beau ( a Border Collie) , rescued from a shelter at one year old, and Jake ( a Golden retriever), who joined us as at just 8 weeks old, hold a special place in our hearts. These lovable dogs bring immense joy, companionship, and love into our daily lives. They have integrated into our family dynamic and are like children to us, showering us with unconditional love and loyalty.

Our dogs accompany us on our adventures, even traveling with us, and have explored the hills of Germany by our side. They have a spirit of adventure that matches ours and they bring a sense of playfulness and liveliness to every outing. Beau, with his love for sunbathing like his mom, and Jake, who enjoys a game of fetch, have their unique personalities that make them endearing and irreplaceable.

Their presence brings warmth and comfort, especially during moments of downtime when they love nothing more than to cuddle with us on the couch. Their gentle and sweet nature reflects the deep bond we share with them, making them more than just pets; they are truly valued members of our family who enrich our lives in countless ways.

Our House and Neighborhood

Our Home

We live in a charming small village in Germany, surrounded by scenic beauty and a close-knit community. Our cozy, traditional German house has six bedrooms, with our favorite being the living room that opens to a large patio for grilling and family nights. Our beautiful garden blooms with vibrant flowers in spring and summer. Filled with warmth, laughter, and love, it's the perfect place to share with a child.

The View From our Favorite Neighborhood Walking Trail in Germany

Our serene, picturesque village is nestled in rolling hills and lush forests, offering endless opportunities for outdoor adventures. We often walk scenic trails with our pups, enjoying the fresh air and peaceful sounds of nature. A nearby park is where children gather to play, and we look forward to joining them with our own child.

The community is incredibly supportive and friendly, with neighbors knowing each other by name and a strong sense of togetherness. The village hosts festivals and events throughout the year, filled with music, dance, and delicious food. Christmas is our favorite time, with decorations and markets in every village and town.

Living near many castles, we love exploring and can't wait to share these experiences with a child. Being in the military, our child will grow up in a large and diverse community. We enjoy cooking, dancing, playing games, and spending evenings by the fire with family and friends. Our hearts and home are ready to welcome a new member to our family.

Our Extended Families

With Our Extended Family

Family is at the core of our being, and we relish the moments spent with our loved ones. An eagerly anticipated new addition to our family will be welcomed with open arms and surrounded by boundless love from grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Weston's eager brothers are thrilled at the prospect of becoming uncles to this much-awaited child, who will hold the special distinction of being the first grandchild on both sides of our family, ensuring they're thoroughly cherished and doted upon.

Family Visiting Us in Germany

Living abroad without close family nearby has led us to forge deep bonds with our military friends in Germany, who have become an invaluable support system for us. The plan to eventually reunite with our immediate families post-Wes's military service highlights our commitment to nurturing and maintaining these vital connections.

The seamless blending of our diverse family backgrounds—Irish, Italian, Scottish, and English—creates a rich tapestry of traditions and influences within our family unit. Our gatherings are marked by openness, passion, and a shared sense of humor, making each moment together truly lively and fun. Culinary delights, from Erica's love for New Orleans crawfish boils to Wes's skill with the BBQ, serve as a special way for us to express love and togetherness.

From Us to You

We hope this letter finds you well. You don't know us yet, but we have been waiting for you for a long time. No doubt you have a lot of nerves about this process- we do too. We know you only want the best for your baby- and we do too whether that be with us or another loving family. We understand the gravity of the decision you are facing, and we want to express our deepest respect for your courage and strength throughout this process. You are considering an incredibly selfless choice, and we want you to know that your well-being, emotions, and wishes are of utmost importance to us.

When we first got married, we wanted to start our family immediately. When it didn't happen naturally, we did various fertility treatments until we realized there was a better way- adoption! We talked about adoption together before we even got married. It was something we both wanted to do in the future. We now know it was why God put us together. We have been together for four years and married for almost three, have embarked on the journey of adoption with open hearts and minds. We are ready to provide a loving and nurturing home for your child, filled with warmth, support, and endless opportunities for growth and joy.

It is essential for us to honor and respect the connection between you and your child. We are committed to sending you updates in the form of letters and pictures, sharing the milestones, moments, and memories that shape your child's life. We want to assure you that your child will be surrounded by love, care, and stability in our family. We dream of creating a home filled with laughter, learning, and unconditional acceptance. Our commitment to providing a safe, nurturing environment where your child can thrive emotionally, mentally, and physically is unwavering. They will have so many cousins to grow up with. So many aunts, uncles and the most excited grandparents waiting to welcome them. Adoption will be such a positive topic in our home as our angel baby grows up. They will know their beautiful adoption story. They will know that it started with the purest of love. They will also know that it is only one part of their story and together we will write the rest. Our hope is to show your baby the world, the way we have been lucky enough to see it. We will hike them through mountains, play in the snow, teach them to ride a bike and make sure their room is monster free every night before bed.

We acknowledge the depth of emotions and decisions involved in adoption, and we want to walk this path together with you, supporting you every step of the way. Your well-being is important to us, and we are here to listen, to understand, and to offer comfort and reassurance whenever you may need it.

As we embark on this journey, we are open to creating a relationship that feels right for the both of us. Whether through letters, pictures, or emails, we are dedicated to maintaining a connection that honors your role in your child's life and respects everyone's boundaries and preferences.

We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering us as potential parents for your precious child. Your bravery, love, and strength have touched our hearts, and we are committed to honoring your child in every way possible.

With heartfelt gratitude and respect,

Weston & Erica
